Sr. Manager, Product Marketing - Virtual

Job Summary:

BCD Travel is changing the landscape of corporate travel with traveler-centric products and services that optimize the trip experience and result in cost savings for our clients. The Sr. Product Marketing Manager, Booking Solutions, will drive the go-to-market strategy, positioning and distribution of BCD Travel's digital booking solutions (hotel, air, ground, rail) for both travelers and agents. Working cross-functionally with product management, strategic product positioning, global marketing and sales/account management teams, this individual will serve as the subject matter expert specifically for air booking solutions both internally (Executives, Sales, Account Management and Operations) and externally (Clients and Travelers). Responsibilities include market validation; competitive research; end-user experience; key message development and collateral; sales training; client presentations and more.

Essential Duties:

1: Positioning of Products and Services

  • Manage communication strategy for booking solutions, including air, ground & rail, for travelers (B2C), clients (B2B) and internally
  • Develop and maintain supporting marketing collateral on global level
  • Drive roadmap communications for booking functionality based on company strategy, client demand and industry expectations
  • Consult on end user experience across various booking products and platforms
  • Manage launch strategy and rollout process
  • Work with team members to ensure consistency in positioning and collateral across solution lines
  • Coordinate campaign set-up tasks and triage incidents, as needed, to ensure timely launch and successful delivery of campaigns

2: Communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal booking products
  • Effectively communicate technical, complex product details to non-technical audience
  • Effectively communicate delivery timelines and dependencies to internal/external stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate marketing requirements to product managers and third party vendors
  • Effectively communicate product relationship to industry specific areas such as distribution, suppliers and nuances of how content will be sold and settled
  • Align delivery with Product Innovation and Global Marketing on product collateral and distribution efforts
  • Present to key clients and executive teams as needed

3: Validate Product/Feature Opportunities

  • Validate proposed products and solutions through client/traveler feedback and market research
  • Serve as subject matter expert on consumer-targeted booking solutions across platforms (web, tablet, mobile) as well as stats, booking behaviors and content integration requirements
  • Gather and maintain competitive intelligence across products and solutions
  • Communicate key features and differentiators to product team

4: Training and Support

  • Work with Sales and Account Management to understand and position product offerings
  • Assist Sales and Account Management with the client qualification process
  • Serve as product SME on client calls as-needed
  • Quantify training and sales support efforts for the purpose of improvements

5: Miscellaneous

  • Assume the perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logical and properly inherent to the position

Required Qualifications:

We need an individual with a proven record of building impactful and measureable B2B or B2C product marketing campaigns with the know how to develop a comprehensive, integrated product marketing strategy. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in monitoring analytical achievement of program goals.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in B2B2C product marketing and/or product management with digital product line specifically in the air/travel industry
  • Experience with online booking solution development
  • deep industry understanding of future trends in global privacy requirements and how content can be sold and settled
  • Samples of product positioning work for both B2B and B2C audiences
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with all management levels
  • Highly skilled in time management to facilitate involvement in multiple projects
  • Self-motivated individual who can lead a project in a highly autonomous environment
  • Experience managing direct and indirect resources

Proficiency in:

  • Communicating new technologies to a non-technical audience
  • PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Product management platforms, such as Confluence and Jira
  • Analytics platforms such as Google Analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ecommerce -- driving transaction online
  • UX/UI experience
  • Agile product experience a plus
  • Experience with a TMC, travel agency or online booking site a plus
